Traveling to Our Second Home in the States

This post has been a long time coming…

North Carolina has been a home away from home for over two decades. We’ve traveled there every year until we started the university because our schedules all conflicted. BUT we came back for the holidays.

It was like reliving our childhood memories all over again. We spent it with family and enjoyed a white New Year’s. My favorite!

Grandfather Mountain

AND TO PUT THE CHERRY ON TOP- ok so! When we were younger, we would always invite a different family with us. We’d introduce them to North Carolina, everything we knew and show them around for that particular vacation. One family went with us to Grandfather Mountain but we were split in about three cars.

The family I just so happened to be with was TERRIFIED of heights… more than me. Ridiculous. So guess who couldn’t go to the top of Grandfather Mountain with everyone else… THIS GIRL!

Fast forward several years and I MADE IT!

It’s one of the most beautiful sights I had seen and it was just breathtaking. I absolutely loved it and I would recommend it to anyone. Tip: If someone if your car is afraid of heights, leave them before it’s too late!

Wasn’t So White

You know how I was totally expecting a white New Year’s? It didn’t happen that way but I got the cold I wanted! Odd for a Miami-an to like the cold weather but I guess I’m different.

Here’s a freezing looking couple and a beautiful tree.

I think this is probably the only place I would revisit 100 times over and over again. I’ve never gotten tired of exploring the mountains, living some time in the cold, spending time with family and making unforgettable memories in North Carolina.

Cheers to many more years here!
