More like the suburbs and ranked one of the safest cities in America. AND where I’ll be moving to for school. I’ve only visited twice since I was accepted and my excitement is through the roof. But here’s my experience from my first visit to Naperville!!
I absolutely love oversized sweaters and colored trees in the autumn. My all-time favorite month has been October because of it. I think it’s the perfect weather.
I came on my trip with my best friend, Lea, and left a piece of my heart there. We traveled Thursday night to Monday night, perfect timing to travel for the cheap-o’s.
Our flight was delayed about three or four times, so we ended up Ubering to our location. Tip: always save money for unexpected activities.You can never go wrong with a little extra.
The next morning, I toured my NEW school!!! The smile on my face never left. I was accepted to my top choice of school, North Central College, for my Master in Business Administration.
I know you’re probably thinking “Why Illinois?” “Why not close to home?” and all, but long story short, I know I needed an experience for a few years elsewhere and the best opportunity came for my masters degree. So here I am now.

If you go to Illinois, Chicago is a MUST visit. It was nice to be back after four years from my last visit. We were tourists in my future home, rode the bus for the tour and explored! Some of my favorite views:

Since we’ve met, we’ve had a fair share of similar experiences and it’s insane! I don’t think I’ve ever met someone with the same exact values, culture and personality as me… but here we are. I’m grateful for her and her willingness to explore other places, like Illinois, with me.

The Chicago Blackhawks
So I’ve recently gone to a few hockey games, but I don’t understand the game at all. I went to my first National Hockey game with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Edmonton Oilers and I absolutely loved the crowd’s spirit.
The initial step into the arena was like walking into a new place filled with fascination. So many red and white jerseys, crowds of people hanging out before the game. It was different.
We went into the game to find a sea of red and white, but mostly red. The game started and the crowd went wild. I still didn’t understand hockey but after my first experience, I’d love to attend more. High expectations for the next!
