Colorado was a Little Rocky

We arrived to Colorado and it was POURING rain. While our white water rafting was cancelled, we opted for exploring our foodie options. We also added a National park in there to be able to accommodate to our national park needs during the trip.

It was a Rocky Day

The Rocky Mountains was beautiful. We escaped to a little nook section that our friend’s friend recommended to be able to get the optimal view of the land. It was an adventurous day because we crossed a fence, skipped some rocks, and landed on pride rock, or at least that’s what it looked like from the Lion King, if you get the reference.

We stayed hydrated my friends. Thanks to my water pouch in my back pack!

Tried to See Some Views

Of course, the one day we can explore the Red Rock Amphitheater, we couldn’t because there was a graduation being planned for the space. We tried going around security, but Colorado’s weather also wasn’t helping either. We climbed an insane amount of stairs to walk around the top and be able to experience it in a different way. My friends and I honestly just made the best of what we could do.

Home of the Colorado Rockies

On our way to grab some food and beer, I dropped off the girls to grab some seats at the rooftop bar, while Khadeil and I took a pit stop at the intersection before the Coors Field. It was too late to go in or even come for a game, but this memory will do!

Let’s Munch Around

Tap Fourteen Rooftop Bar

Walking distance from the Coor’s Field, this gem is a rooftop bar with some of the best views of the city. You can see everything from the top! They looked more like a brunch spot, but it was cute for happy hour too. We ate some wings and quesadilla, and of course had local beer. Don’t you wish you were beer?

1UP Arcade and Bar

One of the coolest bars because we felt like kids again! Amber found a hidden gem, because you basically had to go downstairs into the first set of doors and then you see a bar straight ahead, but games all around. The arcade aspect of the bar makes it fun and different. Our favorite game together was a Pac Man table that all four of us got to play at once. We loved it!

Williams and Graham

Remember what we said about speakeasies? They’ve become a must! TIP: Make a reservation! We were recommended this spot actually and it looks like a bookstore at first. Just open the bookstore and it becomes an interesting and intimate experience. The features of the bar were fascinating, because it felt like I was in Harry Potter. maybe it was just me?

Blue Moon Brewing Company Co

This was one of the first places we booked for our Colorado experience! Although there were no tours available, we could do a self-guided tour and make it our own. We each got our own flights and explored the place. It did not disappoint AND we got to purchase some merch to bring home. Guess who almost bought the whole store? This girl!

Cuba Cuba Café and Bar

This was the closest I’ve had to Cuban food away from my family in Miami that actually tasted like Cuban food. I wasn’t planning to eat here, but I saw the con griz and that was the fastest I have ever ordered a meal in my life. They also had the longest wait time, but TIP: we sat at the bar and it was such quick service. This Cuban joint was everything a Hispanic needs to immerse themselves in the culture of the west. Colorado, you did me well.

Abrusci’s Fire and Wine

A cute Italian place within miles from our Airbnb… Abrusci’s Fire and Wine offers amazing food and drinks! It’s such a classy location and I love the brick style that it was built in. For the start of our Colorado trip, this definitely makes it as one of the top restaurants I visited while in my travels!

The Doughnut Club

Amber really wanted a donut from here and my goodness, they were HUGE! I actually ended up getting the bumble bee because I was thinking of my boyfriend and how we met. If you know that story, you’ll know the meaning!

The Doughnut Club had customized donuts and flavors with exaggerated décor. It was so cute to see how they displayed the treats and how their shop was set up. Definitely worth the sweetness in my life!

Can you tell we love to eat? We knew that in the next few states, the luxury of food wouldn’t be the same. We made our tummies make it fit and the food was just SO good. Colorado, you’ll see me again!

Onto the next one… Let’s go NEW MEXICO!
