Wild Adventure in the Bahamas

Have you cruised through the Bahamas yet? Explored Atlantis?

This time around, one of the excursions felt a bit different. It happened in Atlantis.

But before the experience, I want to talk about the cruise! We went on Royal Caribbean, one of the most respected cruise lines. Enchantment of the Seas to be exact!

It’s tradition to be on the top deck and see the boat leave… and carrying a camera couldn’t hurt.

The goal is to travel each year, whether on a boat, plane or train. And my sister and I always make it happen. My brother will come occasionally, so since it was a weekend cruise, he came down and we had a few friends accompany us on the trip.

Since its opening in 1998, Atlantis has had over a million visitors each year. We had traveled to it once with my family, so we thought visiting the second time would be a breeze. I can attest that it was more interesting for sure.

We arrived to the Atlantis Hotel, but to get to the actual waterpark, you have to walk across the entire hotel… through the shops and the casino, past the lobby and into the entrance of the lockers area! Just be prepared for a tad bit of walking before actually walking the whole waterpark.

It’s an exciting adrenaline rush because you can only be there a couple of hours before you catch the bus taking you back to the cruise ship. So catch this:

While everyone else explored Atlantis, I stayed back with a friend so we would keep our buddy system in tact. I’m not sure what she did but she was asked to go into the shark tank FOR FREE. If she could do it… I could do it. So I did! But it gets better.

While we were in the shark tank, we didn’t keep track of time. So we were on a time crunch with our fellow travel buddies because we didn’t know where they went. I had to turn on my international data (sorry mom and dad) because we had gotten desperate trying to mutually find each other.

The ship was departing at 5:00pm, so we had to be back by 4:30pm. We BARELY made it the ship. But we made it alive!

The rest of the trip was pretty relaxing after this whole fiasco. It was extremely fun nonetheless.

Some advice: always keep track of time even if you don’t have international data, like I should’ve, and stay close to your friends. No matter what adventures you’re exploring.

  1. Hi Melissa:

Glad you had a good time. We have a timeshare at Atlantis and have been there many times. It’s a great place and is always updating it’s
facilities with something new and exciting. What an experience swimming with the sharks must have been! Safe travels. ❤️

    1. No way! I didn’t know a timeshare existed for Atlantis, but sounds like a must have! And thank you for your constant support. I really appreciate it!

  2. This is the appropriate blog for anybody who wants to seek out out about this topic. You realize a lot its nearly hard to argue with you (not that I truly would need…HaHa). You positively put a brand new spin on a topic thats been written about for years. Nice stuff, simply nice!

  3. I’ve been surfing on-line more than three hours today, yet I by no means discovered any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all website owners and bloggers made excellent content material as you probably did, the net will probably be much more helpful than ever before.
