Travel to Walt Disney World for the Weekend

A few years back, I was introduced to the Disney Annual Pass. I had traveled to Orlando more times than what I could remember, so I invested in the pass. I absolutely loved every minute of it and I’m grateful for the memories it came with.

My sister, Giselle, has had an annual pass for as long as I can remember and she was always the person to be like “Disney this weekend? Let’s go!”

I know many people ask why we went so much, but Giselle made a really good point. There’s always something new, especially with these new lands being built. Whether it be the rides, the hole in the wall restaurant items or the people you share the experience with- it’ll NEVER be the same experience. I LOVE that!

As usual, we like to celebrate holidays elsewhere. This time, we chose a little closer to home but still treated it like a vacation!

DISNEY WORLD

We visited the non-touristy parks, the one’s that are truly underestimated. This weekend we went to Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios!

Animal Kingdom

I feel like I hadn’t visited this park in the longest time. It’s one of the parks I least go to but after this weekend, I must say that I was very impressed with all its changes.

We took some great photos and explored the jungle. I rode Pandora for the FIRST TIME EVER and WOW! I would definitely wait three hours for the 4-minute ride more than once. We actually had a last minute fast pass, which made it more worthwhile!

Tip: You have 30 days prior to your trip to access fast passes when you purchase and 60 days when you’re accessing through one of Disney’s resorts.

We also rode Mount Everest, one of my favorite rides. Now after Pandora!

Hollywood Studios

Welcome! Welcome!

Tip: We usually take snacks and eat before and after our time at the parks to maximize our budget for the short weekend trip. Disney can get very expensive!

It was my FIRST time in Toy Story Land! And wow, everything came to life from the way it was created in the movie. I felt like a life-sized toy in the park.

Because we knew our time would be cut short, we made it a point to wait for the rain to stop for the Slinky ride. Since it opened, the lines have been looping around the area. Thanks to this rain, the ride was temporarily closed and then reopened, offering fast passes. GUESS WHO MADE IT!? THIS GIRL!!

Toy Story is a world-wide sensation and I think this will be the last Toy Story movie. The cartoon was my childhood and will forever be remembered, thanks to Hollywood Studios.

It was a good time to visit the parks straight after the holiday BUT it was raining ALL weekend! The absolute worst. So you can guess how my hair turned out…

I took out my emergency hat, even though I’m not a huge fan of hat hair and survived the rain. We also made the best out of our gloomy photos since people like to be indoors in the rain, we didn’t have people in our pictures!

What’s your favorite park? I’d love to hear!
