Everything You Have to Know About the Jennifer Lopez Diet

I moved two months-ish ago and wanted to start fresh- a new and improved healthy lifestyle– not only for myself but also for what I wanted for my future health.

A New Everything

I came to pursue my Master in Business Administration in the tiny city of Naperville, Illinois. I was impressed with the fact that I could actually move out of the house, but one of my main reasons was family. I moved in with some, so I still feel at home but it’s nothing like Miami, Florida.

I started going to the gym more often than I could eat chocolate (which is impressive). To put into a small perspective- I go to Orange Theory three to four times a week. And I was introduced to the JLO Diet– which if you’ve seen my Instagram stories, I have been sharing my journey there.

No Carbs, No Sugar

Just reading it, I didn’t want to believe anything like that could ever be possible. The JLO Diet is no carbs and no sugar for ten days. Could you believe that? No more Oreos, anything chocolate, dairy, or anything good for you. All of my favorite things and I had to learn self-control ASAP.

But I felt in my heart that it would be worth it for me to start with a detox, per se, and then move on to moderation mode and occasionally work on the JLO Diet in different time frames.

New School

You know what it’s like to start at a new school, be on this diet and control yourself with FREE food? It was SO hard. My first month here, we had trainings all day and meetings with the best deep dish pizza for lunch, sweets were a part of ice breakers, and so many of the good foods.

Meanwhile, this is what I was eating:

I’m not going to lie and tell you it was easy. My experience of not being able to eat the foods I always had the freedom of eating was definitely a challenge in itself. The third day was the worst for me because I woke up shaking and I didn’t know how to feel. All I knew was that I had a goal.

But when you have motivators, especially family members that did similar work on their lifestyles, it makes it easier. My family has been holding me accountable and introducing better alternative foods to eat.

I also don’t drink alcohol much, but when I do, it’s more in a social setting. It doesn’t really appeal to me, so I learned my limit quickly and stuck to that, IF ANYTHING. Water has been my best friend for as long as I can remember because I also don’t drink soda (unless it’s used as a mixer) and I never really drink juices, milk nor all those fancy energy drinks. I’m pretty much more stable in the beverage choices than food but I love food.

It’s safe to say that I did it!

For 10 whole days, I ate salad and protein and lost 10 whole pounds. I go to the gym four times a week and really put forth all my efforts. I felt so accomplished and happy. Thank you, JLO.

Throughout the two months, I’ve completed the JLO Diet twice and am currently on it again… but again, in moderation. I added cheese to the diet because I don’t really have a lot of dairy anyway but cheese just adds that hint of flavor everyone, aka me, needs. So I’ve currently lost 20.3 pounds of flubber and gained so much muscle because I want to be toned while losing weight.

BEFORE

AFTER

I wish I had better photos to show but it was a little difficult even finding those. I don’t really take a lot of pictures of myself, from what I’ve noticed, so this is the best I can do.

Now, in a better place and slowly transitioning to some type of chocolate or dairy in my system, I will continue my healthy lifestyle goal. If you ever want to chat on the process or what it took, I’m always available!

  3. You actually make it seem really easy with your presentation however I to find this topic to be really one thing that I think I might by no means understand. It sort of feels too complex and extremely broad for me. I am taking a look ahead to your next put up, I will attempt to get the dangle of it!
