My 2019 Journey in Orange Theory

I signed up for Orange Theory a few days after I moved, on August 2, 2019 thanks to my uncle and aunt and I never looked back. I’ve been going religiously 3 or 4 times a week and I’m L O V I N G it. I’ve never been one to go to a normal gym because I haven’t learned what day is needed for what part of the body. Although I did try, it wasn’t for me. So I’m extremely grateful for programs like Orange Theory that have a coach to guide you every step of the way.

Orange Theory has certain challenges every month. It allows for the opportunity that every day is different, but you still have an all body workout. Half of the one-hour class is cardio and the other half is strength based. They have endurance, power and strength days. My absolute favorite is endurance!

Specifically in October, each studio has something called Hell Week. It’s a week of workouts with more intensity levels than usual leading up to Halloween. But Before the start of Hell Week, I wrote a post about how I’ve completely changed my health to a better lifestyle. Have you seen it? It’s incredible to see what a few weeks or months can do to help train your body. I’ve been eating more smaller portions in a day and am careful with what I choose to digest. Although I have a HUGE sweet tooth, the JLO diet is very doable. I still have my chocolate chunks when I want but in moderation.

Hell Week in 2019 was Oct 24-31. I worked out the five days to receive my shirt (because they give you a free shirt if you workout five out of the eight days). That’s right! Orange Theory, or at least my studio, offers incentives for working on certain days on their challenges. I love it!

Overall, I’ve met some pretty great people and I’ve gotten closer to my uncle because we go to class together all the time. I absolutely love the thrill of participating in my home studio in Naperville, Illinois but I’ve also been to some in Miami, Florida.

This gym program has helped me reach my goals and continues to push me to be in better shape. Because of my chosen lifestyle, I’ve currently lost 22 pounds on a good day and I’m aiming for 20 more pounds of fat to leave my body and be replaced with muscle.

Thank you, Orange Theory, for being a HUGE aspect of my NEW healthy lifestyle in my new city.
