A Splash of the Mary Kay Seminar

Have you ever heard of Mary Kay? It’s a beauty/cosmetics self-made company. Mary Kay Ash’s dream was to empower women and beat the system that 1) anyone could be a CEO and 2) you could do it wearing a skirt.

I traveled to Dallas, Texas a couple of months ago to be a part of Mary Kay’s seminar at headquarters. Women across the nation come in 50 shades of pink and support one another.

Also, I’ve only been to the gray part of Dallas, meaning the convention/conference area where everything closes at 6PM. So I was SUPER excited to get to know the REAL Dallas!!!

WELCOME TO THE LONE STAR STATE!

My flight was early in the morning and I arrived without delay. You know how awesome that is? Well, it’s great! Especially with a HUGE airport…

I got picked up by one of my Mary Kay best pals, Crystal, and we went to Yolk. SO yum!! I needed a siesta after that because look at this:

We met with our hostess with the mostess… her daughter and her are amazing! Reminded me of my mother/daughter duo relationship. They cooked our first homemade meal in the city, or snacks. It was the best wine night ever! Look at these goodies!!

HELLO pink DALLAS!

I definitely underestimated everything about Dallas, so my expectations were above par. But this past seminar… WOAH! There were waves of pink in the building. We had trainings all day and dinner with our units. I appreciate the amount of knowledge that was shared because I definitely need them if I want to grow in the business.

Training in progress…

The Fearless Unit, also known as the unit I’m a part of in Miami, had their own dinner in the OMNI Hotel! Guess what’s in here? The Mary Kay Headquarters! She even has her own museum in the first floor of the building to see how much the business has grown and accomplished through the years.

Christine Denton-Barrueco, my Sales Director, made everything possible with the team. It was a dream dinner! I won Queen of Sharing in my unit and my smile for the rest of the week never went away. It was crazy. The photo in the bottom right is with my parent chaperones and FAVORITE SALSA DANCING DUO!

***Queen of Sharing is someone who shares the Mary Kay opportunity the most in that year.

I think this is the first time I have also worn a blush dress… so many firsts with Mary Kay! LOVIN’ IT!

Training, training, more training!

Dinner with our National Sales Director, Auri Hathaway, was amazing!! The theme this year is the bee, so ours is BEE FEARLESSLY DRIVEN.

Basically, my area is called the Driven National Area and my unit is called the Fearless Unit. The goal is to be the Fearless National Area by 2020. Will you help me reach our goal?

TODAY IS THE DAY for all awards night! The excitement for this time is through the roof because we get to be recognized by headquarters. Honestly, it was a long awards ceremony, but we made the best of it. We cheered on our team and took more pictures than my mom takes at a family party (that’s saying a lot).

What I really liked is that we were allowed to wear our crown and sash every day. I felt like an absolute princess and it was the best!

Above on the left is my MK Girl Gang! I met these besties through this business and I’m eternally grateful for their continued advice.

I met many inspirational people and am thrilled for the next Mary Kay events! Especially since I’ll be away from the Miami area…

It’s sad that the last day approached quick. It felt like we were here for a short time but we made the best of our first pink splash at headquarters. I’m so excited for our unit to grow! Can you tell my excitement level??

Hoping for my next seminar to be in a different jacket, if you know what I mean. 😉

  2. Hiya, I am really glad I have found this information. Today bloggers publish only about gossips and web and this is actually annoying. A good web site with interesting content, that is what I need. Thanks for keeping this website, I’ll be visiting it. Do you do newsletters? Cant find it.
