“What’s the Move Tonight?” Best Things to do in SoFlo

There’s so much to do in the sunshine state, so let’s get down to business. South Florida is where you go to enjoy the culture, history, and just always having something to do. If you ask anyone living in the area, they’ll always tell you to enjoy the food first. I did want to incorporate some things that you can do with the family or just touristy in general. Specifically in South Florida, there’s a few must do’s that I love to explore, both for fun and historically.

Lady Miami Boat Tour

A day with the family is always my kind of day. Twenty-four of us got together to ride around bayside and visit all the celebrity houses. It was a really nice and relaxing experience. Also very affordable at the group rate. Even great for kids of all ages!

Cirque du Soleil- Alegria

Think of a musical with acrobats… then you’ll know what I’m talking about. I absolutely loved the whole experience, especially since it’s not in your usually day to day routine. And there were two best friends in the setting of the story that were the cutest and funniest characters, I think!

South Beach Escape Room

I’ve been to this Escape Room about two times and I haven’t been able to figure out the escape without help. We are given an hour to solve the scene and can ask for hints, but if we want to make it on the leadership board, we can’t use any. I would also recommend reserving in advance.

This particular location is in a hole in the wall type area in Lincoln Road. They can provide better instructions of how to arrive to the building. The space also has a bar area to relax and mingle before or after your reservation.

Miami Design District

So much potential… creativity… The Miami Design District represents it all and more. Miami natives transformed the area into showrooms and aesthetically pleasing design structures. There are a variety of art galleries and exhibition spaces, plenty of restaurants, and many opportunities for photographers to do their thing! AND if you’re feeling the “treat yo’self” mood, you can shop designer goodies in their strip.

Miami Dolphins Game

I absolutely love experiences and sports games have become one of my favorites. It’s been a low-key tradition to plan a Dolphins game around my birthday and in 2019, I decided for something a little bigger with friends!

Tip: Parking is $25 pre-purchased, $35 with surpass and $50 cash day of.

Miami Heat Game

Going to sporting events always has a different vibe in each city you partake in. The Miami Heat games are filled with excitement, especially because it’s one of the sports with the most attendance in South Florida. I think the most fun comes with the people you go to a game with, the commentator with all their information about the players in the game, and just cheering for your team. I promise, you won’t regret going to a game!!

Let’s talk history though. I feel like Miami’s culture is such an interesting thing to be a part of. There’s such a diverse group of people in the city, so I love getting to know everyone’s stories and paths in life.

Here’s some maybe basic instagrammable spots in Miami. I tried choosing a mix of local and touristy locations. Easy for reminiscing or maybe adventuring more? Who knows!

Biltmore

Did you know? The Biltmore Estate in Coral Gables was built in 1926 by George Merrick. It was first a hotel meant to host private events and all the fun, but something happened on the 13th floor that will never be forgotten. You can find more of the story here. It then became a hospital for 16 years during WWII. In 1983, $55 million was given to renovate and now it’s what you see! Ready to explore all its mysteries? Take me with you!

Wynwood Walls

It has become one of my favorite places in Miami. The culture, the restaurants and the people- everything I love about Miami- has given a surreal vibe. It’s a diverse community residing together through the support of small businesses. There’s graffiti art everywhere, even on the floors, and everyone’s always walking around admiring the town.

Did you know? Tony Goldman was the creator of the Wynwood Walls in 2009. I feel as if these walls have been here longer than I have lived.

Cerveceria La Tropical

As the oldest brewery in Cuba and the youngest in Miami, there’s a lot that this brewery has already accomplished in the heart of Miami. Since it’s opening in February 19, 2021, the brewery has made its mark with the staff they have, the authentic foods, and the love of their country. I love it!

I had to bring my family and friends to experience this with me. It provides a glimpse of Cuba in the states to those that have never been. From the music to the art to the flamingos; every detail.

“A man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. For over two decades, I’ve dedicated my life to carrying away the small stones off the La Tropical mountain. However, I still feel like now is just the beginning of the journey, and not the end of it. Never forgetting our Cuban soul, La Tropical is ready to bring Miami sun, fun, and rhythm to people everywhere.”

Manny Portuondo, 5th Generation Kohly Family Member, Founder Three Palms Holdings
& CEO Of Cervecería La Tropical

Once you walk in, you experience the Cuban history as you arrive to the bar. It hits home for me because my dad has always told us stories about Cuba. We were actually able to experience the beautiful country in 2017 before Hurricane Irma destroyed a good majority of it.

I truly believe that life in Cuba is insanely different, but the culture will never die within Miami. ¡Viva Cuba!

Vizcaya

A girl’s quince dream is to come take photos at Vizcaya, or at least during my time it was. Everyone, absolutely every girl I knew took professional photos at Vizcaya. It’s a beautiful place. Lots of greenery, history behind every architectural building, and views of Miami.

While we transition into adulthood, now weddings and engagement shoots are happening in the heart of Miami. Vizcaya holds a place in every girl’s heart, I feel. So I thought who better than to showcase a photographer’s work of the historical area and with the best weddings vibes!

One of my long time friends, Michelle Gonzalez, has been in the photography business for almost as long as I’ve known her. She makes her clients feel comfortable while feeling beautiful at the same time. Her final edit for the images also has that warm, Miami vibe to them. I think she definitely has a gift for it all!

The Wharf

In Miami, there are only so many riverside locations you can go to but the Wharf is definitely worth it! They always have great specials for all meal times of the day and it’s a fun spot to catch up with friends. And of course, how can we forget the food trucks! They surround the outside area and there are many options. There’s also plenty of picture perfect spots!!

Miami’s list of things to do goes on and on. I’ve even written about its restaurants in different areas. Want to have a Taste of Miami?

  3. In the great design of things you secure a B- just for effort and hard work. Where you misplaced everybody was on the facts. As as the maxim goes, details make or break the argument.. And it could not be more accurate right here. Having said that, permit me inform you precisely what did do the job. Your text is certainly really engaging and this is possibly the reason why I am making an effort in order to comment. I do not really make it a regular habit of doing that. Next, although I can certainly see the leaps in logic you make, I am not really sure of just how you seem to unite the ideas which produce the conclusion. For right now I will, no doubt yield to your position but hope in the foreseeable future you connect your facts better.
